Our Sworn Translation Services

Also called as certified or official translation; sworn translation involves endorsement of a translated document by a sworn translator who is authorized by competent authorities such as notaries to translate official documents.

In Turkey, several public institutions only accepts documents that are translated by sworn translators. Also several other institutions including public organizations require translation to be certified by notary and apostille approved.

Official documents such as diplomas, transcripts, medical reports, passports, letter of attorney, contracts, etc. must be signed and sealed by sworn translator.

Requirements for Sworn Translation

There are some visual standards set for sworn translation. For instance, documents should be signed and stamped by a sworn translation. Name and surname of translator, a translator’s statement that document is translated accurately, address, date and phone number should be included in the document.

When Sworn Translation Is Required?

Sworn translation is generally required when documents are presented to official institutions. For instance if documents presented to official bodies such as governor’s office, universities, courts, etc. contain translation from foreign language, these documents are requested to be certified by a sworn translator.

Sworn translation guarantees accuracy of translated document. The seal and signature contained in the document signifies that the translation is performed by a certified translator.

Which Documents Require Sworn Translation?

Documents issued by institutions abroad such as diplomas shall be recognized by institutions in our country only if they carry stamp of sworn translators. Similarly, foreign universities request diplomas to bear stamp and signature of sworn translators during registration.

Besides documents related to education abroad; documents such as marriage or birth certificate as well as driving license must be translated by sworn translators.

Similarly, companies need to have documents related to their activities abroad signed and stamped by sworn translators.
